Online monitoring firm Meltwater has nailed down a list of the most talked about Australian sports stars.

The below graph tracks mentions on worldwide online news media from January 1 to December 5, 2014. Motorsports star Daniel Ricciardo tops the list with 208,687 mentions. Ricciardo, for those unaware, is an Australian racing driver who is currently competing in Formula One for Infiniti Red Bull Racing.
