Legendary Australian actor Cornelia Frances has lost her battle with cancer aged 77.
The British-born Frances starred in some of Australia’s most loved TV shows including Sons and Daughters, Prisoner and The Young Doctors.
More recently, she starred in Home And Away and in 2001-2002 hosted the short-lived quiz show The Weakest Link.
Frances was already an accomplished actor when she emigrated to Australia in 1970 and soon found national fame with local audiences playing the acidic Sister Grace Scott in Nine’s soap opera The Young Doctors.
She became famous for playing the villain which she admitted was always more fun and was nominated for six Logies during her career.
