Independent Media Agencies of Australia (IMAA), the national, not-for-profit industry association for the independent media agency industry, has announced the winners of its second annual IMAA Awards for Media Partners with ARN winning the overall IMAA Media Partner of the Year.

The awards, held at Sydney’s Mary’s Underground on Wednesday night, aim to recognise the important role media companies nationwide play in supporting the IMAA and its member agencies.

More than 250 independent media agency leaders and media partners attended this week’s event, watching on as the IMAA Leadership Team and Board of Directors presented the coveted awards.

The full list of 2024 IMAA Awards for Media Partner winners are:

  • Partner of the Year: ARN
  • Partner of the Year Awards by Channel:
    • TV: Nine
    • Out-Of-Home: oOh!media
    • Audio: Nova
    • Publishing & News: ACM
    • Digital: StackAdapt
  • Partner of the Year Awards by Category:
    • Service & Relationships: Val Morgan Cinema
    • Ideas & Proactivity: ARN
    • Value & Proposition: SCA
    • Data & Insights: Cartology
    • Innovation: JCDecaux
    • Effectiveness: Meta

The awards, which are voted by IMAA member agencies, are judged on criteria of service, proactivity, value proposition, data and insights, innovation and effectiveness. Each member votes for the partner they think provides the greatest value across the categories.

“It’s not often that media organisations are recognised for their contribution, particularly the work they do with agencies, and the critical insights, creative and effectiveness they offer. Since the IMAA’s inception, our media partners have been incredibly valuable supporters of our mission to celebrate and advocate for indies nationally – so it’s a privilege to get the opportunity to recognise them and the valuable role they play for our members and the industry as a whole,” said IMAA CEO, Sam Buchanan.

“We now have 45 media partners at the IMAA and all contribute significantly to supporting, educating and providing services to our indie agency members. We’re looking forward to another big year of partnerships in 2025”.

“ARN is honoured to be named this year’s IMAA Media Partner of the Year. As a network, we’ve long valued our relationship with the independent media agency sector and the incredible creativity, innovation and client service that indie agencies are delivering. Over the past 12 months, the national indie sector has continued to prove its value for its clients, and the IMAA has been an essential part of that – we look forward to continuing our partnership with the indies in 2025,” ARN National sales director, Nick Flood.
