Can’t understand the pesky mind of the Millennial? Well, perhaps this may help.
US ad agency Moosylvania has surveyed 3500 Gen Ys aged 20-35 to find out which brands most appeal to them.
And, yes, predictably it was tech behemoth Apple that they had most kinship with the Ys winning the top spot. Interestingly, Facebook could only manage 65th while other platforms such as Instagram or Snapchat didn’t rate a mention at all.
The full list, published on Businessinsider.com, can be read here:
The list’s top 10 contained the usual suspects, but interestingly also included budget retailers Target and Wal-Mart. The survey also deduced that it was brands with a strong social media presence that was most likely to win over the Ys
The final top 10 list of favoured brands included:
- Apple
- Nike
- Samsung
- Sony
- Microsoft
- Target
- Amazon
- Wal-Mart
- Ninetendo
Unsurprisingly, tech, fashion (namely sportswear), fast food, cars and entertainment brands ruled the list. Particularly those brands with a dedicated youth focus or where seen to be doing good for the planet.
When it came to media brands, they didn’t appear to fare well at all in the top 100. Netflix came in at 72, filmmaker Marvel at 67, Facebook at 65, AT&T at 62, Verizon at 62, Ebay at 53 and Disney the best placed media brand at 21.
