The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) has announced the appointment of Louise Eyres as its corporate general manager.
Eyres joins the ASC from ANZ, where she was the group general manager of marketing. She has also previously BHP Billiton’s global head of brand.
Eyres has been promoted within the ASC to corporate general manager, a role she has been acting in this year, and will lead its newly created marketing, customer insights and analytics division.
Kate Palmer, chief executive of the ASC, said Eyres’ appointment demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to enhancing its strategic leadership of the Australian sport sector.
“We realise the importance of the ASC evolving its operations to take a stronger leadership role,” she said.
Commenting on her appointment, Eyres said she was excited about creating new promotional and commercial opportunities for sport.
“The new marketing, customer insights and analytics division will be focused on developing stronger community connection with sport,” she said.
“To achieve that, we intend to be collaborative, empowering sport through key strategic partnerships and a coordinated approach across government, the sector and industry.”
