President-Elect Joe Biden returns as Captain America, with President Trump as Marvel’s supervillain Thanos, in a funny and at times touching riff on Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame.

In a follow-up to his Election Day film that re-imagined the climactic battle of Endgame as a meme with major American politicians subbed for heroes, Brooklyn-based filmmaker John Handem Piette has created yet another riff on the current situation in American politics that, oddly, continues to parallel the film.

America Endgame II – Soul of a Nation pits the likes of Joe Biden as Captain America, Elon Musk as Iron Man, and Hunter Biden as Thor, against the onslaught of Donald Trump as Thanos, in a brilliant nine-minute short film that, ultimately, sees the victory of the heroes.

Speaking to Ad Age, Piette said the sequel was inspired by the “unprecedented resistance this administration—mainly Trump—have shown in not acknowledging Biden and Kamala’s victory”.

“This country has a tradition of heated politics but peaceful and humble transfers of power,” Piette told the outlet.

“None of it is normal so I wanted to go big and really exemplify the absurdity of what’s going on in our country right now. Seeing these events play out in meme form and as a fantasy parody contextualizes it a little more for me since it’s all so hard to believe in the first place.”

Other notable inclusions in the film include Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris as Falcon, Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez as Captain Marvel, and Barack Obama as Black Panther, among others.
