AFL And Coles Bring Back Healthy Kicks Program

AFL And Coles Bring Back Healthy Kicks Program

The AFL and Coles have celebrated the return of the Coles Healthy Kicks program at St Augustine’s Primary School in Yarraville.

The Coles Healthy Kicks program has been created to inspire young Australians to enjoy healthy and happy lifestyles. Developed by AFL MAX co-founder and premiership player James Podsiadly, the program works on a four-quarter model including healthy body, healthy mind, healthy food and healthy team.

The program is delivered in partnership with various schools across Australia as an incursion and/or vacation program.

St Augustine’s Primary School kids enjoyed a morning with AFL and AFLW legends, Jack Viney from Melbourne Football Club and Ruby Svarc from Brisbane Lions.

AFL Executive General Manager of Customer and Commercial, Kylie Rogers said the program is an exciting offering for kids all around Australia these school holidays.

“Sport provides kids the confidence and capability to be active, setting up strong foundations for a healthier life with proven long-term physical, psychological, social, and cognitive benefits for kids. These school holidays the Coles Healthy Kicks program is the perfect opportunity for kids to get active and social, especially those who have been learning remotely this school term.”

Footy is the perfect vehicle to deliver an entertaining and educational program that is inclusive, fun and engaging for all kids, not just footy fans and we are so pleased to have Coles on board to help bring this program to life” said Ms Rogers.

Coles CMO Lisa Ronson added: “Coles is committed to supporting all Australians to live healthier and happier lives.

“Our insights show that as kids grow older and have busier lives, they can tend to forget to include lots fruit and vegetables in their diets. We want to be supporting kids and inspiring them to enjoy healthy food and embrace active lifestyles.

“We’re proud to have created initiatives like Coles Healthy Kicks and are pleased that these programs can be delivered in a safe and fun environment,” said Ronson.

Coles and the AFL announced a five-year partnership in 2020, with Coles taking the naming rights of the centre circle.
