Y&R Names Clems Melbourne’s Adam Kennedy As Brisbane MD

Y&R Group Brisbane has announced the appointment of former Clemenger BBDO Melbourne business lead Adam Kennedy as managing director.

Leading a team of more than 60 staff, Kennedy steps into the role effective immediately, reporting directly to Y&R’s regional CEO for Australia and New Zealand, Phil McDonald.

Kennedy was previously with Clems Melbourne, where he was a member of its leadership team and led major accounts, including Carlton United Breweries and Fonterra.

Prior to that, Kennedy worked in the UK at AMV BBDO, where he rose through the ranks from graduate trainee to board account director in six years.

McDonald said Kennedy has had some impressive experience at two of the BBDO network’s best agencies.

“He loves the business of creativity, and understands what clients need and want,” McDonald said.

“Beyond that, he is a good bloke and fits in to the Y&R management team perfectly. I have no doubt Y&R Brisbane will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership.”

Commenting on his new role, Kennedy said: “I’m excited to be joining Y&R to head up the Brisbane office at such an important moment in the agency’s history.

“Y&R Brisbane has a formidable reputation in this market built on its creative pedigree, depth of talent and enviable client list.

“Along with the existing leadership team, my hope is to build on this heritage as we evolve our model, culture and ideas to meet the future needs of our clients.”
