Wieden & Kennedy And Nike Take Out Top Honours At Ad Age Awards

For the second year in a row, advertising agency Wieden & Kennedy have taken out the top prize at the Ad Age A-List & Creativity Awards Gala.

Wieden & Kennedy’s world-famous work with Nike has once again solidified them as a global leader in the advertising world.

The event, held at Cipriani in Manhattan on 15 April, saw the agency top Ad Age’s annual A-List on the strength of culture-leading campaigns for Nike, KFC, Bud Light and OkCupid as well as strong revenue growth in its New York office.

Wieden & Kennedy took the advertising world by storm last year with their inspirational campaign for Nike which featured sidelined NFL star turned social activist, Colin Kaepernick, which was acknowledged at this year’s gala.

Wieden & Kennedy Portland managing director Karrelle Dixon said: “It’s all about a commitment to striving to make great work.

“That’s the desire, the mission that everyone comes into the office every day to do—to take work that is meaningful to the community that we have internally and to the world.”

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners took the No. 2 spot on the A-List.

The Omnicom agency landed agency-of-record partnerships with Pepsi, Liberty Mutual and BMW all within the space of 18 months as well as posting more than 20 per cent growth in 2018.

Co-founder Jeff Goodby said: “This is a business of love, not competition.

“That’s what makes this stuff come out great every year.”
