Wego launches private marketplace for advertisers

Leading the charge in delivering programmatic advertising offerings, travel metasearch site Wego today launched Wego’s Private Marketplace – one of the first large premium travel publishers to do so.

“The Wego Private Marketplace is the next evolutionary step in the development of our high-performing and targeted data-driven advertising solutions, which began with the launch of our Audience Engagement Platform last year,” said Rick Mulia, Chief Advertising and Sales Officer for Wego.

“As advertisers run bigger and more complex campaigns with Wego, they are looking for more efficient and frictionless ways to buy media that fits more easily into their workflow and ad technology stack,” he continued. “Wego’s scalable and flexible ad technologies, big data assets and customer-focused trading desk, enable advertisers and agencies to access Wego’s inventory and audience in a more automated and efficient manner.”

“The Wego Private Marketplace is a more enhanced and customised platform open to digital agencies and brand trading desks globally,” explained Mulia. “Wego’s Private Marketplace is available to medium and larger advertisers, without limitation or exclusivity.”

The initial line-up of Wego’s clients span the world and include Xaxis (trading desk for some of the world’s largest ad buyers), Amnet, RadiumOne in the UK and USA and other highly established trading desks in APEC, Macau and the Middle East.

“We’ve significantly enhanced our Audience Engagement Platform since the initial launch in 2013,” added Mulia. “The steadily growing advertiser base, increasing deal sizes and higher numbers of repeat advertisers and always on campaigns are all indicators of how warmly our solution has been embraced by advertisers.”

Wego is one of the largest premium travel publishers in multiple markets worldwide. There are many large travel websites run by airlines, hotel chains or online travel agencies but Wego is unique amongst large travel websites in that it accepts advertising and is a brand neutral venue and the pointy end of the travel shopping funnel.

Wego’s Audience Engagement Platform enables advertisers to select users shopping for travel by country of origin, destination, brand preference, price range, travel window, length of stay, cabin class and many other parameters. Users can be targeted on Wego but also re-targeted off-site and all of this, fully-managed by Wego’s internal Publisher Trading Desk.

“We’re very happy to take the lead in programmatic advertising in Southeast Asia and the Middle East with what is the most efficient and comprehensive targeted travel advertising platform we’ve encountered,” concluded Mulia. “We’ve developed Wego’s Private Marketplace to a professional global standard and we’re confident that it will benefit advertisers not only in these regions, but throughout the world.”
