UK Election Turns Nasty As Tories Suffer Guerilla Ad Attack

Just a week out from the UK’s general election, a series of mock election adverts have appeared around London OOH sites and on the Tube suggesting dire warnings if Theresa May’s Conservatives are re-elected.

The movement is called ‘Subvertising’ and it illegally replaces real ads with subversive images and mock adverts.

Reports in the UK’s The Independent suggest the ads are the work of a left-wing activist group called Special Patrol Group and feature the art of satirist Darren Cullen.

Cullen said of the ads: “While I couldn’t condone potentially illegal behaviour, I do support the subvertising movement and take my hat off to whoever has been printing these 6 sheet posters…and getting them into the eyeballs of the public.”

The posters come with some pretty grim warnings if the May’s Tories get back in on June the 8th. Including, among others, nuclear annihilation, privatising the National Health Service and even shooting sick and disabled people. Check out some of the posters below:
