Tourism WA Launches Tender For Creative Advertising

The Western Australian Tourism Commission, which trades as Tourism Western Australia (Tourism WA) has released its tender for creative advertising services.

According to a notice on the WA government’s tender portal, Tourism WA is seeking to appoint “innovative marketing agencies to provide a range of services including strategic and creative services, and implementation and production services”.

Tourism WA intends to award the creative and strategic service category to a single supplier which will lead creative strategy and concept development, including the development of the overarching brand positioning and creative expression in the form of campaigns.

Agencies nominating for this service category may also nominate for the implementation and production services category.

However, Tourism WA intends to award this category to a number of suppliers “in order to provide maximum versatility and flexibility to this portion of the contract”.

These suppliers will support Tourism WA’s planned marketing activities through the implementation of campaign plans and the production of creative executions.

This may require unique and specialised services, including digital, TV and cinema, press and print, radio, and out of home.

The contract duration is two years, with the option of an extension.

Tourism WA originally planned to kick off the tender process in August. However, the application deadline is Thursday 14 February 2019 at 2:30pm.

B&T understands Cummins&Partners is the incumbent agency for Tourism WA, having been named its strategic marketing partner in 2014.

However, Tourism WA also worked with experiential marketing and events agency Banter earlier this year on an activation in Victoria.

Tourism WA is the state government’s agency responsible for promoting Western Australia as a holiday and event destination.

This includes marketing the state; developing, attracting and promoting major sporting, arts, cultural and business events; and supporting major projects that will draw visitors to particular destinations.
