The Stuff Of Nightmares! Burberry Goes Goth In Star-Studded Christmas Ad

Iconic fashion brand Burberry has unveiled its Christmas offering that’s as notable for its cast of stars as it is for being rather cold and haunting.

Among those lending their names to the fabled British brand’s festive spot are former Doctor Who Matt Smith, Kristin Scott Thomas, rapper M.I.A, supermodel Naomi Campbell and even her mum Valerie.

Titled “Close Your Eyes and Think of Christmas”, the ad’s the first campaign since Riccardo Tisci took over the reigns as creative director earlier this year.

The brand – famous for its classic trench coats and signature tartan – has struggled to remain relevant in recent times, namely in trying to attract a younger clientele. Things weren’t helped when the brand was recently busted for using fur in its garments and destroying close to £30 million ($A50 million) of unwanted product to protect the brand’s image.
