The story of a generation told over 42 years will come to an end this December. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will undoubtedly be one of the biggest films of the year, attracting all demographics with a forecast of over 4 MILLION total admissions.

At last week’s D23 Expo, Disney unveiled to more than 100,000 guests an exclusive glimpse into the ninth and final installment of the Star Wars Skywalker saga.

The footage left the crowd gasping, capping off an emotional reunion of many members of the cast who took to the stage with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and director J.J. Abrams.

Abrams shared emotional stories about the late Carrie Fisher and went on to describe the film as a love letter to her. The actor passed away before filming began, but with unused footage from The Force Awakens, Abrams was thrilled to announce Carrie Fisher’s final onscreen performance with beloved character Leia appearing in the final film.

Final instalments of long-standing film franchises typically see a 55 per cent box office uplift on their average film delivery. The Rise of Skywalker is predicted to surpass this trend with an estimated 77 per cent increase on its previous titles and a whopping delivery of 24 TARPS across P25-54.
