Sorrell’s S4 Boosts Australian Reach With Biztech Acquisition

Sir Martin Sorrell’s S4 Capital is expanding Australian operations, snapping up Melbourne-based marketing company Biztech.

The deal will see S4 Capital’s MediaMonks merge with Adobe experts Biztech to create a fully integrated content and programmatic operation in Australia as well as Canada.

Sorrell said the acquisition would boost S4’s operations in the APAC region past alongside MightyHive, which he picked up last year for $200 million.

“We are delighted with the proposed deal which will bring the BizTech team to the S4Capital family,” he said.

“Their highly specialised Adobe expertise and close-knit client relationships make BizTech the perfect partner to accelerate our business in Australia and beyond.”

MediaMonks chief executive Victor Knaap said: “Bringing BizTech on board will represent many things for MediaMonks. We will be effectively marrying engineering, design, and content for a new era of creativity.

“But we’re not just broadening our client offer, we’re growing our network that will span from Mexico to Melbourne and welcome a brand-new super crew of Adobe experts.”

BizTech CEO Michael Patishman commented: “We are thrilled to be asked to partner with S 4Capital and launch MediaMonks in new territories in Australia, which offers exciting opportunities for our people and a broader service offering for our clients.”

Headquartered in Melbourne and with offices in Sydney, Toronto, Moscow and Astana, BizTech currently employs 90 staff across its five offices and reports revenues of $15 million.

BizTech’s status as a Gold partner in Adobe’s Solution Partner Programme will allow MediaMonks to expand its digital marketing ecosystem.
