SMART Queensland Appoints New Leadership Team

SMART has named Phillippa Netolicky as general manager and Ben Davis as executive creative director of the Queensland office.

Expanding the SMART offering to a truly national one, the appointments reflect a fresh focus on the Queensland market.

Netolicky has been leading the creative teams at SMART Queensland since 2009 on key accounts including Auswide Bank, Local Search, Queensland Government, Fraser’s Property and Pradella.

Elevated to the role of general manager, she will drive the business’ growth, strengthening opportunities with long-standing clients and building upon the agency’s integrated creative and media offering.

Joining Netolicky in Queensland is executive creative director Ben Davis, moving from his role as associate creative director of McCann Melbourne.

Ben Davis has been an integral part of the SMART agency’s continued national success during its merger with McCann Worldgroup. During Davis’s tenure as Associate CD of McCann his relentless focus on craft saw him responsible for campaigns such as The Hipstervention for Bic, Cobs Popcorn ‘So Happy You Could Burst, VIA learning, 5am Yoghurt, and kikki.K Christmas – AdNews best Christmas TVC of 2014.

Netolicky’s promotion and Davis’s move signals a reinvigorated leadership team at SMART Queensland.

Netolicky said, “I’m excited to be taking on this role after over six years with SMART. With Ben boosting the creative firepower of the office, the future is looking very bright for SMART Queensland.”

Davis added, “The opportunity to move up from Melbourne is the most exciting challenge of my career. We’ve got an insatiable appetite to win for our clients up here. I can’t wait to find out what’s keeping our clients up at night, then solve those problems with insightful, relevant work. Exciting times!”
