Queensland Agency BCM Wins Beko Account

Global Home appliance brand Beko has announced it has appointed Queensland agency BCM to its Australian and New Zealand account following a competitive pitch.

Established over 61 years ago, Beko operates in over 140 countries, and has sold over 440 million units. It is number one in the European free-standing white goods market, the second largest home appliance brand in Europe in the white goods sector, and has been the fastest-growing brand in the overall European market in the last seven years.

The brand focuses on the manufacture of resource-efficient, environmentally-friendly, eco-award winning products.  In Australia, its retail products include fridges, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves, cooktops, and range hoods.

BCM will handle strategy, brand planning, creative development, and media planning and buying for the Beko brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Amanda Hart, marketing manager for Beko’s Australian and New Zealand operations, said: “BCM’s strategic smarts were immediately apparent. We really liked their ideas and approach to developing our brand in the Australian market.”

BCM managing director Paul Cornwell said: “Although they’re a relatively new player in this market, the brand itself has a strong history and established brand personality, particularly in European markets. So, we’re really excited about the opportunity to showcase Beko to Australian consumers.”

The Queensland-based agency will start work on the account immediately.
