Perth Agency Reveals Pulp Fiction-Inspired Clip To Promote Portfolio Night

Spreading east to west across the globe for one night only, thousands of young creative hopefuls will join One Club’s Portfolio Night with dreams of impressing a host of creative directors and winning a spot at the prized New York All-Stars event.

This year sees Perth as the sole Australian city representing this worldwide event, so when asked to promote the night via an engaging online film, The Brand Agency and their bespoke content production house, King Street, went to town.

The Quentin Tarantino inspired clip sees The Brand Agency ECD Marcus Tesoriero and JWT ECD Paul Coghlan, bound and gagged, recreating the famous ‘gimp’ scene from Pulp Fiction. Held hostage by a pair of deranged creative students, the direction and torturous sex-dungeon set was meticulously recreated beat by beat, with King Street showcasing a fine level of finish on a shoestring budget.

While a little out of his comfort zone, Tesoriero was proud of the team’s output. “Portfolio Night is a fantastic opportunity to pass on advice to the next generation of enthusiastic creatives so when we were asked to promote the night, there was no holding back when it came to the scripts. For a bit of fun, we put the challenge out to recreate one of Tarantino’s most famous scenes ever. And on virtually zero budget, I was amazed with what the team pulled together in just a few short days. The message is loud and clear so I’m confident it will get the attention of the up-and-coming Perth creative community to come and take part.”

Portfolio Night will be held Wednesday, May 23 and tickets are selling fast. To find out more about the event, or to purchase your ticket at visit www.portfolionight.com/14
