Optus Continues Rio Games Sponsorship With ‘In the Pool With Ian Thorpe’ Campaign

The Olympics may be finishing up today, however, Optus is set to continue to get value out of its major sponsorship of the Australian Team with a new Olympic series ‘In the Pool With Ian Thorpe.’

The six-part series features “Thorpie” interviewing Australian stars from Rio while fully-dressed and floating about in a swimming pool.

Thorpe said of the campaign: “I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Australian medallists and some of the world’s most colourful and celebrated athletes. I’m really excited share all the action from Rio.

“The series is going to be pretty unique as there aren’t too many other social media talk shows out there. We’ll show a different side to our athletes, hilarious pool related activities and the opportunity to give back to the fans so it’s definitely one not to miss.”

Fans can join in on the action via the hashtag #FanUpAUS, with a selection of weird and wonderful fan content to be featured within the ‘In the Pool’ series.

As the official support network of the Olympic Games, Optus is celebrating fandom in all forms and “In the Pool with Ian Thorpe” will provide the perfect platform for Australians to share their team pride and unite in their love of sport and laughter.

‘In the Pool with Ian Thorpe’ is being filmed at ‘The Edge’ – a facility where Olympians, friends and family meet and celebrate.
