Ogilvy Duo To lead Miami Ad School’s 2017 Social Media Boot Camp

Miami Ad School has announced that Ogilvy’s Alex Watts (head of social) and Jennifer Ngai (lead social strategist), will lead its Social Media Boot Camp in the coming spring term.

The 10-week boot camp is an intensive program where students work on live briefs to create fully-executed social media campaigns, and will run from Monday 2 October to Friday 8 December 2017.

Its five weekly classes are taught after hours, from 6pm to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays, and costs $5,000.

The boot camp offers one-on-one expert feedback and allows each student to build a professional portfolio. It is suitable for planners, creatives, account managers and brand managers.

Watts said he was really excited to be running the Social Media Boot Camp.

“We’ll be focusing on developing a broad set of social skills, preparing students for a role in the real world of agencies and beyond,” he said.

“Social is critical to any successful marketing mix today, because it can deliver to a whole host of business objectives,” she said.

Watts and Ngai will be joined by social media experts from different agencies, who will coach students in all aspects of social media from integrating social strategies, paid media and texting campaigns, to understanding data and analytics.

In addition, students will learn how to create impactful and engaging content for social media.

The announcement comes after Maud’s Sunny Hwang and DDB’s Damian Martinez were announced as the headliners for Miami Ad School’s Account Planning Boot Camp
