Nike Celebrates Record Marathon Run With Record Turnaround For Ad Honouring It

When Kenyan Eliud Kipchoge crossed the line in Sunday’s Berlin Marathon he smashed the world record for the 42-kilometre event, finishing in two hours, one minute and 39 seconds and shaving 78 seconds off the previous best time.

The only thing quicker than the Nike-shod runner’s time is the ad that Nike bought out immediately after to celebrate Kipchoge’s amazing run.

Titled “Fastest ever” – that’s Kipchoge’s time and not the agency’s turnaround time – the ad’s the work of Nike’s incumbent agency Wieden + Kennedy Portland.

Interestingly, it doesn’t actually show the Kenyan until the final credits but, quite cleverly, puts the viewer smack-bang in his Nike running shoes. Check it out below:
