John Lewis Launches Christmas Ad, Parodies Already Surfacing

John Lewis’s Christmas ad has only been out for three days and yet a parody of it has already emerged.

It’s arguably one of the most anticipated ad spots during Christmas, and this year John Lewis puts a man on the moon for the festive season.

Called #ManOnTheMoon, the ad features a little girl looking through her telescope and seeing an elderly man on the moon.

The two-minute ad has already been watched more than nine million times on YouTube.

And humour site The Poke has already parodied it with a Star Wars version. Darth Vader looks down on the telescope little girl as he receives the present – which he in turn blows uses to blow up the earth.

Welsh rap stars known as Goldie Lookin’ Chain have also tried their hand at a John Lewis parody.

The three-minute clip features this year’s Christmas ad, as well as previous ads, and the hilarious lyrics of the rap artists with inspiration from Oasis.
