Clooney Takes A Beating In New Nespresso Ad

American actor George Clooney is back at it again with Nespresso, putting his body on the line (well, pretending to) in the coffee company’s new advertising campaign.

The Change Nothing campaign, which also features Game of Thrones and Pirates of the Caribbean star Ian McShane as the villian, debuted today on YouTube, Facebook and on Nesspresso’s website, and will be followed by a television and outdoor launch.

The fully integrated campaign kicked off with a teaser phase earlier this month, where media were invited to guess what fate awaited Clooney, who is captured by two thugs in the ad after striking up a conversation with the villian’s wife at a Nespresso store.

Loïc Réthoré, general manager of Nespresso Australia and Oceania, said the new collaboration with Clooney features a storyline that shows the Oscar-winning actor at his best.

“In Change Nothing, we see just how far George is willing to go for that incomparable Nespresso coffee experience,” he said.

“Ian McShane plays the perfect villain to George’s hero.”

Commenting on the new ad, Clooney said that bringing a more character-driven approach mixed with humour has really taken the campaign to a new level.

“We always look to take the story to the next level, and in this latest instalment I think we can say that it is certainly my most eventful outing to date,” he said.
