Australia Day 2016 Lamb Ad “Teaser” Revealed

Australia Day 2016 Lamb Ad “Teaser” Revealed

If any locally made ad can be hotly anticipated then the annual Australia Day lamb commercial would have to be it.

In what’s good news for the advertising industry but bad news for lambs, Meat And Livestock Australia have released a teaser for its coming January 26th campaign.

The work – presumably by The Monkeys (who did last year’s Richie Benaud spot) – is titled ‘Operation Boomerang’ but doesn’t give the ad’s star away just yet.

The 30-second video shows Australians overseas for a variety of reasons – work, holiday etc – rather than being in the country for Australia Day. It then cuts to some sort of military force who presumably have been charged with getting them home for a lamb roast on the nation’s celebratory day.

The Australia Day lamb ads have become somewhat of a tradition since beginning a decade ago and have featured some absolute beauties including last year’s Richie Benaud number and the classic Sam Kekovich’s take on things. Check out some of the classics here:
