AppNexus Appoints New Managing Director For JAPAC Region

Independent ad tech company AppNexus has announced the appointment of Kaylie Smith (pictured below) as its new managing director for the Asia Pacific and Japan.

Based in Sydney, Smith will oversee AppNexus’ Australian commercial expansion and strategic partnerships, as well as the company’s commercial presence in the JAPAC region.

Smith joins AppNexus from Rubicon Project, where she managed its publisher division as head of Seller Cloud.

Prior to joining Rubicon Project, Smith was a longtime executive at DoubleClick, where she served as managing director for the JAPAC region.

AppNexus president Michael Rubenstein said: Smith’s appointment represents the company’s deepening investment in the JAPAC region.

“Kaylie’s breadth of experience and industry knowledge enhance our ability to act as a strategic partner to current and future customers across JAPAC,” he said.

Commenting on her appointment, Smith said: “Australia and JAPAC represent the next frontier for programmatic technology, and I am excited to build on AppNexus’ existing base growth here.

“As the world’s leading independent advertising company, AppNexus is a vital partner to both independent sellers and buyers of digital advertising. I look forward to bringing my leadership experience to the team as we expand our partnerships and champion the interests of our customers.”

Dave Osborn, who formerly managed AppNexus’ commercial presence in Australia, has transitioned to the US-based role of vice president of global accounts.
