Local Havas executive creative director Steve Coll has been named the Havas Creative Group’s ‘Person of the Year’ at a global leadership meeting in New York.
This is the first time the award, which is handed out annually, has named a member of the Group’s Australian agencies.
Coll said the award was special and said it recognised the shop’s “tight-knit management team”: “It’s very much a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts”.
“The goal for Ant, Phil, Alex and myself has always been to turn the agency’s creative reputation around in the belief that business would follow, which has been the case.”
Coll was appointed ECD in November 2010. The agency won its first ever Cannes Lions in 2012 with Coll’s team and Havas has since gone on to win 11 Lions over the past two years for clients including Reckitt Benckiser and Virgin Mobile.
