Sorrell blasts UK MP for 'ad-bashing'

Sir Martin Sorrell has hit back at the “ad-bashing” comments made by a UK MP at London’s Advertising Association Summit in a piece to The Daily Telegraph.

The chief executive of WPP labelled comments made by Helen Goodman, the UK’s Shadow Minister for Culture, as “the latest addition to the canon of ad-bashing”.

Sorrell said industry leaders were “bemused” by her address to the advertising fraternity in which she reportedly associated blamed the “curse” of branding and “excess in marketing” for the attitudes of looters during the 2011 London riots.
