Qantas has released a teaser of its short film series to leverage its sponsorship of this weeknd’s Tropfest.

‘Our Australia. Our Airline’ was filmed across Australia and is designed to tell the story of notable Australians and their relationship with the country.

Olivia Wirth, Qantas’ group executive brand, marketing and corporate affairs, said: “There are so many Australians doing extraordinary things everyday and Tropfest has provided us with the perfect platform to tell just a few of these stories. As Australia’s national carrier, Qantas has played a role in each of their lives and we’re proud to share their stories for the first time at the world’s largest short film festival on Sunday.”

“Our involvement with Tropfest Australia forms part of our wider strategy to foster Australian talent, helping creative young Australians in their artistic endeavours and to pursue their dreams, both in Australia and around the world.”

The first film tells the story of Charlie Maher, who is the first Indigenous Australian to run the New York Marathon in 2010.

Qantas has also launched a Tropfest channel on its inflight entertainment program, featuring the top Tropfest films from the past 20 years.

During this Sunday’s (December 8) event, Qantas will be on the ground at Tropfest offering special giveaways.
