Deepend gets Cooked

Deepend has brought the humble cookbook into the digital world with the launch of Hardie Grant’s Cooked website.

The independent creative communications agency worked with the publisher for one year to create the Cooked platform which has been described as ‘Spotify for cooking’.

Chris Joyner, Deepend client services director, said: “The team is confident Cooked is going to make huge waves in the online publishing and home-cooking world. It already revolutionise the way readers of traditional printed cook books interact with their favourite authors in the digital space and is a first in Australia we are proud to be a part of”.

The fully responsive consumer-facing website has more than 12,000 recipes from the likes of Margaret Fulton and Luke Nguyen.

It will offer advertisers the chance to display contextual ads including geo-targeted event listings and product package promotions about brands and authors “in aim of enhancing the user’s experience”.

The release said: “With Spotify worth approximately $3 billion dollars and the rising popularity of reality cooking shows such as Masterchef, the booming trend in creative and professional home cooking and ‘Foodie’ culture, makes now the opportune time for Cooked to launch.”
