DDB Sydney nets new head of ops

DDB Sydney has hired Brendon Eastlake as its new operational director.

The management reshuffle will also see the agency appoint a new boss to its digital arm, Tribal, following the departure of Charles Rallings who left in April to take the vice president (digital) post at Creata.

"Charles Rallings had a dual role – he was driving the Tribal brand as well as looking after operations within the group. As the importance of technology within a broadening operational offering is increasing – we have now split this role in two," said DDB Australia chief executive Chris Brown in a statement.

"Brendon is driving the operational agenda and we will be announcing the new Tribal MD shortly," he added.

Eastlake has previously worked as operations director at Special Group, head of production/operations at Shine, and also held operational positions at Publicis Mojo and Boiler House.

He said that he was delighted to be part of the thriving and innovative culture of DDB Sydney.

"With the increased importance of technology as an enabler of creativity, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. I strive to connect creative excellence with production efficiency, because when creative brilliance meets production excellence, things always change for the better."
