Bogus signer at Mandela’s funeral is back in ad campaign

Remember the bogus signer at Nelson Mandela’s funeral? Well apparently he’s back in a new advertising campaign for live streaming service, LiveLens.

The commercial opens with signer Thamsanqa Jantjie introducing himself as the guy from Nelson Mandela’s funeral, signing afterwards with a voice over translating his signing to “I speak sign language, not”.

The ad goes on with Jantjie apologising for what happened at Mandela’s funeral, while the voice over signer translates something completely different.

There’s even a scene reminiscent of an Old Spice ad where Jantjie is on a horse.

Yesterday Livelens said on its Facebook page it didn’t realise the ad would get so much interest, with many berating the company for making a mockery of the situation.

Check out the ad below and let us know what you think.
