BWM Melbourne has appointed former Whybin\TBWA managing director Mark Watkin to MD of the agency, replacing Carl Ratcliff who is relocating to Sydney.

Ratcliff, who has been MD of BWM’s Melbourne operations since April 2012, is moving to Sydney “to pursue new ventures”, BWM said in a statement.

BWM’s chief executive Paul Williams thanked Ratcliff for his contribution and said Watkins will build “on the good work and momentum generated by Carl”.

“We are looking forward to the breadth of knowledge and leadership experience that Mark will to BWM in Melbourne,” Williams added.

“He has a strong track record in developing agency/client relationships and delivering award-winning client campaigns.”

Watkin (pictured), who resigned from Whybin\TBWA in July, has also worked as head of client services at GPY&R Melbourne and at Saatchi & Saatchi London as well as indie digital agency Hyperlink.

Watkin added: “BWM has always been an entrepreneurial company and it’s something I’ve admired. I’m looking forward to joining and working with the agency team in a new chapter and building on the solid work to date.”
