Australia ranks second in Big Won

Apparently we are the second most creative country in the world, according to the Directory Big Won Rankings in 2013.

The rankings were based on 8,004 awards won throughout the year, of which us Aussies won 3316 of those, just behind the winners over in the US who won 3869.

Australia came in second ahead of the UK and our beloved McCann Melbourne scored the top place for creative agencies last year.

The top campaign across all media channels was Dumb Ways to Die, a catchy tune that reminds us about train safety, created by McCann Melbourne.

Driving Dogs by our neighbours over in New Zealand came second in the top campaign race with Blood is Red&Black by Leo Burnett in Sao Paulo snatching third.

John Mescall, executive creative director for McCann Melbourne was also named the top executive creative officer.

Overall, was a very exciting year for Australia. Well done.
