ADMA Creative School has toasted its class of 2017 at a glitzy soiree held at Sydney’s CBD Hotel last night, with graduate Fernanda Talamantes from myPlates taking out the Best in Class award.
Talamantes edged out 19 hard working classmates from across a range of industries. Other award-winners including Matthew O’Keefe from Mercer Bell, who was awarded Best Art Director, and Garry Lau, Ogilvy One, and Jacob Mill, who were recognised as Highly Commended.
Speaking to B&T‘s roving reporter at the event, Talamantes said, “I’m happy and excited to have won. I’m hoping this will be an opportunity to get into the industry. I feel like a lot of hard work has paid off.”
Leo Bajzert, ADMA’s Creative School head tutor said of the Best in Class award, “It was another great year for Creative School and the level of work made the judges’ jobs very hard. But when it came down to it Fernanda’s clarity of thought shone through in a portfolio that was engaging and thought-provoking from start to finish.”
“We have some of Australia’s amazing future creative talent here at ADMA Creative School. The candidates have come from all different backgrounds – one is even a chef – so it’s great to see the creative diversity we’ve brought together,” ADMA CEO Jodie Sangster told B&T.
“ADMA’s mission is to support, promote and advance the marketing industry which includes the next generation of talent; it’s great to see the fresh new creative thinking coming from our Creative School graduates.
“Research shows that effective marketing engages with customers. Therefore, creativity is so critical to brands and is the link between the data and customer. I’m so proud that ADMA Creative School is helping to inspire the next generation of creative and effective marketers in Australia,” Sangster added.
Domain’s chief marketing officer (CMO), Rebecca Darley, said that without Tealium’s customer data platform (CDP), her business would not have been able to achieve the personalised marketing success that has made it one of the leaders in data-driven marketing in Australia.
