Ad System XTD Begins Installation In Brisbane

Cross-track digital advertising system operator XTD Limited has announced it has commenced work on its contract with Queensland Rail (QR) for the installation of the XTD system in Brisbane’s metro rail system.

XTD Ltd has an exclusive seven-year contract with QR to build and operate the Brisbane cross-track advertising system that will be in four of Brisbane’s busiest metro stations, operating in both below-ground and above-ground locations.

The expansion of XTD’s Australian operations to Brisbane is scheduled to be completed in May this year.

XTD offers the world’s first, designed for rail, cross-track video system and uses billboard-size LED television screens coupled to high definition sound to broadcast advertising and information to metro train commuters.

XTD also has a seven-year contract with Metro Trains Melbourne Pty Ltd (“MTM”) operating 32 XTD digital screens within three underground rail stations. The Melbourne XTD systems were installed on time and within budget and have been fully operational since 15 October, 2014.

XTD also achieved another significant milestone towards the end of 2014. On 2 December 2014 the company closed its November IPO fully subscribed, raising $3 million.

XTD CEO Steve Wildisen said that he and senior members of the XTD commercial team had recently visited the USA where they met with some of the largest outdoor advertising groups, technology companies and media buyers. XTD is focusing on the USA into 2015 as a key market for the system.
