Dubai Tourism has enlisted some serious A-list clout and added some serious violence in a new, out-of-character campaign to attract visitors to the Gulf State.
The work of London agency Mother, the campaign’s called ‘A Five-Star Mission’ and stars none other than the way-too-attractive duo of Jessica Alba and frequent Byron Bay visitor Zac Efron.
The big-budget and surprisingly violent ad plays out like a wannabe James Bond movie, and was directed by Aussie Craig Gillespie, whose film credits include Fright Night, Cruella and I, Tonya.
The first in a series of six ads has just dropped (check out the debut below), with the ensuing five to be released over the next fortnight.
You can also take a behind-the-scenes look at how the action-packed ad came together below.
Commenting on the work, Chris Gallery, a partner at Mother, said: “Dubai is a destination like no other. Our challenge was to create a campaign which allowed every aspect of it to shine.
“There isn’t a single piece of content able to convey everything that Dubai has to offer. Our solution, the Dubai Presents platform, is hard-wired to be flexible in showcasing Dubai as the ultimate destination.”
Gillespie added: “Capturing this all in five days was a logistical challenge, similar to what it must feel like to be in an organised whirlwind.
“Thankfully, Dubai’s blessed with a litany of great locations to use as a backdrop. Together with our leading actors, it made a shoot I’m unlikely to forget in a while.”
