X Factor trumps Nine's AGT

Talent shows The X Factor and Australia’s Got Talent went head to head for the first time last night and it was Seven’s X Factor which emerged victorious.

The X Factor pulled in 1.314 million viewers at 6.30 pm last night compared to the launch of Nine’s Australia’s Got Talent which had 1.044 million at the same time.

Nine won the 8pm time slot with 60 Minutes watched by 1.162 million. Seven’s Sunday Night had 1.075 million.

Nine lost the 9pm slot however, with Underbelly: Squizzy watched by just 772,000. Seven’s Bones had 801,000.

The contest was tight between Seven and Nine but Seven came out on top with a 32.4% share of all free-to-air viewers. Nine took 32.1%.

Ten’s best performing was MasterChef Australia in 13th place with 699,000 viewers. Ripper Street had 481,000, and two episodes of Modern Family took 466,000 and 460,000 viewers.

In total, Ten won 15.6% of all FTA viewers compared to ABC’s 16.3% and SBS’ 3.7%.
