Westpac's agency shuffle

Westpac's agency shuffle

DDB’s grip on the Westpac account has been tightened with a reshuffle that has seen Lavender moved off the bank’s below-the-line account.

Instead, Lavender now works on the CRM of St George Bank, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA.

John Harries, Westpac’s general manger of strategic marketing, said: “Lavender has had a long standing partnership with the Westpac Group and we are pleased to see this continue.”

DDB’s direct marketing agency Rapp now handles Westpac’s CRM and digital duties. DDP Shop Melbourne is now in charge of Westpac’s retail business.

DDB took over the creative account from incumbent Big Red in August last year.

When Westpac’s creative pitch was first made public last year the bank said Lavender’s below-the-line duties would not be affected.

"Lavender has been below the line agency for more than 15 years and we are very pleased that they will continue in this capacity," the spokesperson said. For more click here.

DDB unveiled its first work for Westpac in November 2012 with creative that was “designed to be talked about”.
