Want another way into UTS?

With semester one of university beginning in a matter of weeks, some students may be disappointed not to be enrolling in the degree they had wanted.

ATAR results can bring sometimes bring upon a shortness of breath, a flushing of the cheeks as HSC students discover whether their studying and lack of social life was worth it.

Late last year UTS:Insearch launched a campaign to let students know it wasn’t the be all and end all if they didn’t get their desired results.

“We’ve had an extremely positive response to the campaign with over 40,000 visits to the campaign landing page and more than 17,000 views of the video,” Belinda Howell, UTS:INSEARCH general manager, market development, told B&T.

“Our student inquiries have risen by 80% as a result of the campaign.

“As the premium pathway provider to the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS)  we wanted to let graduating HSC students know that if they didn’t get the ATAR needed to get into UTS directly, there is still another way,” Howell added.

“Our target audience is 17-18 year old high school leavers. We want to encourage them to consider enrolling at UTS:INSEARCH when they receive their ATAR results in December, through to when the university term starts in February.”

Four future bigshot students are featured within the teaser who go on to study at UTS to pursue their careers.

The concept and development of the campaign was created in-house by the UTS:Insearch marketing team with marketing campaigns executive, Nikki Duffey, and graphic designer, Nick Akkanen.

The teaser was produced by Ajit Singh and Rocket Productions and directed by Johnny Lopez with media agency UM coordinating the media plan.

The campaign was launched through online platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter as well as airing on premium catch up TV sites such as Seven, Ten and ABC iview.

According to the website: “We offer UTS Foundation Studies (on behalf of UTS) and Diploma courses that can, depending on the course you choose, fast track you into second year of a UTS degree.”

The program can help prepare school-leavers and mature aged students for entry into university.

Lewis Chen is one such student who, through the help of UTS:Insearch, is now continuing a career in architecture, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.
