Vale Sharron Meissner

Well-known media buyer and former head of Seven Network’s direct sales manager Sharron Meissner has died.

She passed away on August 7 at St Vincent’s Private Hospital in Sydney after falling ill after returning home from an overseas trip.

Starting her career at Schofield Sherbon Baker in the late 70s she had the chance to work with her mentor David Baker, before joining Seven in the early 1980s to work with Michael Harrison, enjoying 14 successful years with the network.

In 1994 she left to join The Value Network, Australia’s first home shopping channel, as sales director, and in 1996 she set up her own media planning and buying business Total Retail Advertising, where she was managing director. 

A memorial service is being held at 2.30pm tomorrow, August 14, at the Hillside Chapel of Palmdale Memorial Park, Palmdale Road, Palmdale.
