Unicef turns dads into superheroes

Unicef wants to turn dads into superheroes

Unicef Australia has kicked off a Father’s Day campaign, urging Aussies to give their dads a ‘super-power’ to mark the occasion.

The charity’s new campaign is encouraging people to give Unicef Inspired Gifts this Father’s Day, on September 1.

Buying 200 polio immunisations for $35, or 12 leather footballs for disadvantaged children for $66 will see dads getting send a card detailing the life-changing gift his children have bought for him.

Tim O’Connor, communications and advocacy director at Unicef Australia, said: “Remember when you were a child and you thought your dad was literally a superhero? We wanted to recapture this essence in our creative for Father’s Day.”

The campaign is being supported by online display advertising, paid search, EDMs, PR, donated space from publications including mX, AFL Record and The Sunday Telegraph, and across Unicef’s own channels.
