BRW has published its rankings of the 50 best places to work in Australia for 2013, with UM finishing just outside the top ten in 11th place.
Other agencies included in the top 50 include OMD (39th), Octagon Australia (43rd), Match Media (45th) and Adconion Media Group.
Mat Baxter, CEO of UM Australia, said the Best Places to Work ranking was an extremely important accolade for the agency, particularly in an industry often criticised for its work-life balance and high staff churn.
“I'm enormously proud of my management team for fostering such a positive work culture and keeping our staff so engaged," said Baxter.
"We recognised that developing our culture and enthusiasm in a period of very strong growth would be a big challenge, as we have seen companies in similar circumstances rush for growth at the expense of their corporate culture and morale. We have managed to buck that trend."
Best Places to Work is published by Great Place to Work in publishing partnership with BRW. The rankings are determined by employees’ anonymous survey responses, complemented by Great Places to Work’s assessments of company programs and practices compared to other applicants.
Financial services firm Optiver finished No.1 on the list.
