Troy Taylor steps up as Lego marketer

The Lego Group has found a new marketer to sell its famous multi-coloured building blocks in Australia and New Zealand with the promotion of Troy Taylor.

Taylor has been with Lego for 12 years and is currently head of sales. As head of marketing Taylor will lead a team of 10 direct reports.

He replaces Caroline Squire who moved to Jurlique as marketing manager of Australia and Europe earlier this year.

Glenn Abell, general manager for Lego Australia and New Zealand, said: “Troy brings with him tremendous strategic, commercial and leadership capabilities while also having a deep knowledge of the LEGO Brand and products. In his new role, Troy will drive the marketing strategy for LEGO Australia and New Zealand which includes a stronger focus on marketing effectiveness, shopper insight driven retail activation, next generation e-commerce methodology, active share focus and overall organisational health in the marketing department.”

During his 12 years with Lego Taylor has held many roles including in the areas of field sales, account management and as customer development director in the United States.

In 2012 he returned to Australia to establish the newly created head of sales role.
