Tip Top puts leftover artificial colours to creative use

Fonterra’s Tip Top have removed all artificial colours from its ice cream products, and have found a unique way to let its customers know.

As part of Tip Top’s ‘Back to Nature’ campaign, artists created limited run hand screened posters using synthetic food colours instead of ink. The artworks depict abstract ice cream shapes in vivid primary colours.

A case study has been released outlining the unique process behind the street poster element of the campaign.

The emotive tongue-in-cheek case study is “in memory of” the artificial colours: Yellow CI19140, Red CI15P85 and Blue CI42090.

The posters were run in pedestrian targeted Adshel media around New Zealand to supplement the wider campaign of outdoor, TV, digital and PR.
