The Tinder Aids Project has come under fire for ‘slut shaming’ from its message “you’re probably not her only match, use a condom”.

Presented by Aids Task Force, the campaign sees a fictitious woman created and uploaded for people to scroll through to see whether they are a match with her.

“Danielle” is presented with a few different partners, and when you come to the end of your scrolling, the message “you’re probably not her only match, use a condom” pops up.

The campaign has been suggested as implying women sleep around and “blatant slut-shaming”, according to EJ Dickson from The Daily Dot.

Adding: “Despite what the ad suggests, it’s always a good idea to use a condom when you have sex with someone you meet on Tinder, regardless of whether you think she’s promiscuous or not.”

A number of people have also taken to Twitter to express either their distaste for the campaign or their admiration.

Adele Couchman on Twitter has likened the campaign to The Sun’s breast cancer awareness campaign. Read more on that here.

In response to ELLE Magazine in the US's tweet regarding the campaign, Hayley Burrows said "it actually makes me sick".

Born Social took to Twitter to express how they thought the campaign was clever, with a number of responses agreeing with the social media specialists.

According to the Mail Online in the UK, Tinder has denied involvement with the AIDS project.
