Seven’s The Mole burrows further from the magic million mark as Nine’s The Block continues to win over viewers.

The Mole, which stepped into the slot recently vacated by House Rules, is struggling to fill the reno show’s ratings shoes in its first week.

Last night, the program pulled in 650,000 viewers, down from 700,000 on Thursday and 864,000 for its debut on July 3.

The Block was Thursday  night’s most watched non-news program, pulling in 1.237 million viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

The second episode of the show (The Block Sky High Unlocked) sat in fifth place with an audience of 1.058 million.

Nine’s A Current Affair (1.124 million) continues to outperform Today Tonight (1.03 million). Nine News also beat Seven News, with 1.285 million viewers compared to Seven’s 1.248 million.

As a result Nine took the largest share of free-to-air viewers with its main channel winning 24%. Seven took 19.3%.

Ten’s highest rating show and only program in the top 20 overall was Ten News at Five with 653,000 viewers. Ten claimed a 13.7% share ahead of the ABC’s 12.6% and SBS’ 6.4%.
