The Bachelor dips, Seven stays strong

The Bachelor has had a minor ratings tumble in its second week on air, sliding down to 15th most watched program from 11th a week earlier.

On Sunday night The Bachelor was Ten’s most watched program but viewer turn out has sunk slightly from 669,000 to 576,000 last night.

The smaller audience hit Ten’s combined share of all free-to-air viewers which sat at 13.4% and 8.5% for Ten’s main channel, according to OzTam’s preliminary ratings.

The program was in the top 10 in under 55s and 25-54s.

Seven dominated the night taking a combined 34.6% share of all viewers. The X Factor pulled in 1.44 million to Seven and helped the network steam roll the competition, with its main channel alone taking 27.8% of all viewers.

Nine’s Australia’s Got Talent sat in sixth place with 1.172 million.

Nine may have lost the reality war but it won the news program tussle, Nine News was the evenings most watched program (1.488 million) ahead of Seven News in fifth place with 1.192 million.

The second instalment of Power Games: The Packer Murdoch Story sat in 10th place with an audience of 773,000 viewers.

Nine took a combined share of 31.1% and Nine’s main channel won 23.1% of all FTA viewers.

The ABC took a combined 16.6% with 13.1% to ABC1 and SBS took a combined 4.3% share.
