A campaign calling on the supermarket giants to stock Thankyou’s expanding range of charitable products has resulted in Coles saying ‘yes’.
The two-week ‘Coles and Woolworths’ campaign by Thankyou called on Aussies to post on both retailers’ Facebook pages and ask for Thankyou products to be sold in all Coles and Woolies stores in Australia.
Thankyou and Coles met on Friday and the supermarket giant was convinced.
The Thankyou team is due to meet with Woolworths representatives tomorrow.
“It’s a surreal feeling,” said Thankyou co-founder and managing director Daniel Flynn. “We’ve spent over a year developing the range and working on campaign strategy. This whole exercise was a massive risk for us and it really could have gone either way.”
The campaign video received more than 70,000 views on YouTube – seven times its target.
The Thankyou range sees Thankyou Water added to, to include Thankyou Food and Thankyou Body Care. The not-for-profit company supports millions of people in need of food, drinking water and hygiene education around the world.
John Durkan, chief operating officer at Coles, said: “We’ve listened to our customers, who told us they would support the Thankyou range if Coles stocked it. Now they’ll have the chance to do just that and make a difference with every product they buy.”
The campaign has also been supported by celebrities including Jules Lund, Chrissie Swan, Andrew Gaze, Rebecca Morse, Peter Helliar and Nicole Livingstone.
