Sun shines again for Droga5

EXCLUSIVE: Sydney creative agency Droga5 has scored a notable win by securing the business of Australian appliance company Sunbeam.

It represents another significant string to the Droga5 bow after it picked up high-profile Qantas and Woolworths wins last year.

Sudeep Gohil (pictured), CEO of Droga5 Sydney, told B&T that his agency was "delighted to win the account", confirming that it will be working across Sunbeam’s whole business.

Droga5 made a pitch to Sunbeam two months ago, winning the account ahead of three other agencies.

Earlier this year, the Droga5 CEO told B&T that the agency was on a new three-fold focus for 2013, with its main priorities being bedding down recent client wins, getting on top of data, and developing closer working relationships with media agencies.

“We have a lot of momentum and piles of work in production,” said Gohil, adding that in an ideal world, creative and media would re-join. “One of the worst things that happened to advertising was when media and creative separated,” he said. “We want to work closer with media.”

Droga5’s Sydney office has doubled in size in the past year, as the agency won bucket loads of new business.

“Business is going very well in the early part of this year, we are using up a lot more space in our office," said Gohil.

Sunbeam is a sponsor of popular Channel Seven show My Kitchen Rules, with the company’s appliances often placed prominently in episodes.
