Singers and Husbands keep viewers on Nine

The Voice reached another high note for Nine last night as 1.962 million Australians settled in for an evening watching wannabe songstresses and rockers.

The Voice dominated Seven’s Celebrity Splash which came in 10th place at 7.30pm with 821,000 viewers and soapy Home and Away with 895,000.

House Husbands won the 8.30pm slot for Nine with an audience of 1.155 million viewers.

Seven’s Revenge came in eighth with 898,000 viewers.

Ten’s The Biggest Loser Next Generation had 589,000 viewers and sat in 19th place.

Nine also won the tug of war for news viewers between itself and Seven with Nine News claiming the title as Monday evening’s second most watched program.

Nine News narrowly beat Seven News’ 1.342 million result with an audience of 1.410 million.

Ten News at Five claimed an audience of 743,000.

A Current Affair also pulled in more viewers for Nine (1.159 million) than Today Tonight did for Seven (1.091 million).

ABC News had 936,000 viewers, ABC News Update had 692,000, Four Corners won over 646,000 and Media Watch pulled in 635,000.

Nine’s main channel won a 29.4% share of free-to-air viewers ahead of rival Seven’s 20%.
